Mr. Higham’s legal practice focuses on corporate and business law, commercial real estate (sales, acquisitions and leasing arrangements), mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital and other financing transactions. Mr. Higham is very passionate about providing creative, results-driven and cost-effective legal counsel, specifically tailored to each individual client.

Matters handled by Mr. Higham on behalf of his clients involve the entire life-cycle of a business, including:

• Entity selection and formation with all corresponding registrations and securities issuances and filings (e.g., limited liability companies, S-corporations, C-corporations, limited partnerships, general partnerships, and nonprofit corporations);

• Ongoing corporate governance;

• Day-to-day operations and strategy (e.g., employment matters, executive compensation, joint ventures, and debt v. equity financings);

• Mergers and acquisitions; and

• Dissolution.


Mr. Higham assists his clients with the drafting and negotiation of agreements of all types, including (amongst others):

• Purchases and sales of businesses;

• Commercial real estate leases, purchases and sales;

• Technology licensing and transfer (including software license agreements, end user license agreements and others);

• Distribution and supply arrangements;

• Employment;

• Service agreements; and

• Health-care industry related agreements (ensuring compliance with HIPAA, HITECH Act, Stark Act and Anti-kickback regulations).

Mr. Higham was raised in Southern California and, except for short stints outside of California to complete his undergraduate studies and to serve a volunteer church mission in Argentina, has lived in California ever since. Prior to joining Robinson & Robinson LLP, Mr. Higham practiced law in the corporate/M&A/real estate department at the prominent Inland Empire law firm of Varner & Brandt LLP. Mr. Higham is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California and its Business Law and Real Property Law Sections, the Orange County Bar Association and its Business & Corporate Law and Real Estate Law Sections, as well as the Riverside County Bar Association. He is a member of the Orange County Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, a member of the Executive Committee of the South County Chapter of the BYU Management Society, a former member of the Board of Directors of the LifeStream Foundation and the Board of Directors of the Inland Empire Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society.



Mr. Higham was awarded his Juris Doctor from the Santa Clara University School of Law in 2006. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts degree (emphasis in Finance), in 2001.



Mr. Higham is fluent in Spanish. He enjoys participating in all sports (with preference given to basketball, volleyball, mountain biking and snowboarding), is actively involved with family and community activities, and aspires to compete in triathlons.
